Permission sought for 23 houses in Killavullen
The construction of 23 residential units in Ballymacmoy, Killavullen has been proposed in a recent planning application to Cork County Council.
Twelve 3- bed semi-detached dwellings, eight 4-bed semi-detached dwellings, along with three 2-bed terraced dwellings are proposed. Associated car parking, landscaping, amenity and local play areas, along with stormwater drainage, including attenuation, and a new vehicular entrance are included with the application.
It is proposed that the dwellings be developed on a 1.53ha site at the southern end of the village currently used for agricultural purposes, with Nano Nagle Place estate to the immediate north.
“The subject site is located within the existing development boundary of Killavullen, which benefits from an existing level of services and infrastructure. Further, the area bounding the site to the north and west is predominantly residential in character. The proposal represents an extension to these estates as move out from the centre of the village,” planning documents read.
Previous planning applications for similar developments on the same site were made, one last year seeking the construction of 25 residential units, which was withdrawn in January this year due to the planning authority having concerns relating to flood risk.
Another application in 2009 saw planning permission granted in July of 2010 for the construction of 23 houses. This permission expired in 2015 and saw an extension of duration to the development granted, which expired in July 2020.
Cork County Council is due to issue a decision on the pre-validation planning application, which is due on April 19.
