Commissioning and equipping underway at new health centre

The HSE has begun the commissioning and equipping process at the new Primary Health Care Centre located at Mill Island, Fermoy.

A spokesperson for Cork Kerry Community Healthcare confirmed to The Avondhu that they have recently begun the commissioning and equipping process, but added that this can take up to six months to complete.

Longer waits for some items of equipment are also being experienced, the spokesperson claimed, due to global supply chain issues so, in light of this, no completion date for the commissioning and equipping process has been issued.

“At present, we are experiencing longer lead-times for some equipment due to global supply chain challenges, therefore it is difficult to advise on a completion date for this phase,” a Cork Kerry Community Healthcare spokesperson said.

It is understood that once this phase is completed, the Primary Care Service will manage the movement of staff to the new building.
