Kilbehenny Ukraine appeal
An urgent appeal is underway in Kilbehenny and surrounding areas for items needed by those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Collection of donated items will take place in Kilbehenny Community Centre on both Thursday, March 10 and Friday 11 from 7pm until 9pm.
Local hauliers, Spillane Brothers International Transport, will be sending a truck to Poland with donated supplies.
According to the Kilbehenny Community Association, Spillane Brothers are planning to ship the supplies on Saturday, March 12.
“We are kindly asking if it is possible for you to try to help us, by collecting any items listed (below). No matter how big or small the donation, it will be greatly appreciated. We would ask for the items to be packed in cardboard/plastics boxes for ease of transportation,” a statement from the local group read.
Items sought include non-perishable foods, baby food that is jarred or in pouches, and baby formula, pet food, disposable plates, cutlery and kitchen towels, clothing and bedding, hygiene and medical supplies and other items such as batteries, flashlights, power banks, cables, backpacks, notebooks, as well as books for children.
