Wally Waddlers explore the outdoors with Ballyhoura Development
Both Griston Bog in Ballylanders and Doneraile Park played host over recent weeks to the Welly Waddlers, the toddler and preschool series run by Ballyhoura Development CLG.
Using local urban green spaces and town parks, Ballyhoura Development instructors invited families to explore, move and play in the natural world on their own doorsteps. They visited Croom, Castleconnell, and as mentioned, Doneraile and Ballylanders for the free taster sessions, and now they plan to expand the Welly Waddler session throughout the year, with ongoing taster sessions that can be availed of.
In bringing the many benefits of outdoor play to families, the goal is to make being outdoors and active accessible and easy. It is also about creating a safe space to learn and play, while also providing a much-needed social group for new like-minded parents.
