Busy few weeks for local groups

-

This year's RTE All-Ireland Drama Festival circuit will for many groups, mean a hectic schedule with several of them participating in the maximum of eight festivals.

The local groups - Brideview, Ballyduff, Kilworth and Palace Players got the first of their dates off to a flying start over the weekend. Palace Players for instance will, come next Tuesday, have performed 6 nights nights out of 10, traversing the country and taking in festivals in counties, Cork, Waterford, Clare, Laois, Kerry and Galway.

The only group having reason to celebrate at this early stage are the Ballyduff troupe who won the Rush festival in Dublin at the weekend. Congratulations to all involved there.

This weekend will see the closing of a number of festivals so the above groups will have a fair idea how they are faring.

The West Waterfoird festival in Ballyduff will close on Saturday night with adjudicator Tom Byrne giving his verdict there. So, an interesting weekend ahead.
