Coláiste Fionnchua Action Day 2022

-

Last week, Coláiste Fionnchua threw open the doors of the school to welcome its 2022/2023 cohort of incoming 1st year students. There was huge excitement from teachers and students as this is the first Action Day that we have been able to hold for over two years.

Students from 18 different primary schools enjoyed getting a taste of secondary school life when they took part in a variety of subject-based workshops. These included workshops in computer aided design (CAD), home economics, science, metalwork, woodwork, PE, modern foreign languages (MFL), music, and art.

Not only did students get the opportunity to meet with their future classmates and teachers; they also got to make some keepsakes to remember the day such as keyrings, pencil holders, pieces of art, and rockets!

This was a hugely successful day which was enjoyed by all our new, enthusiastic enrolments. In addition to getting a taste of school life at second level, it will help in easing the transition to secondary school. We are looking forward to meeting them all again in the new school year.
