All-Ireland semi-final winners

This weekend saw four Conna Handball Club members representi­ng Cork in All-Ireland 40 x 20 semi-finals.

First up was Hugh Carolan who travelled to St Joseph’s Handball Club in Wexford on Saturday, 5th March to play David Stanners (Wexford) in the Masters B Singles semi-final. Following a tough battle,

the Wexford man prevailed and now progresses to the All-Ireland final.

On Sunday, 6th March, John Herlihy had home advantage as he took on Brendan Higginbott­om from Kildare at Conna in the Emerald Masters Singles semi-final, this was a keenly contested game, with John emerging as the winner on a scoreline of 21-15, 19-21, 11-3.

On Sunday, club juveniles Diarmuid O’Connell and Cian Dunning travelled to Cashel where they met the Galway pairing of Cillian Fahy and Colum Noone in the U16 doubles semi-final, Cian and Diarmuid were delighted to take the win in two games and they, along with John, now progress to the All-Ireland finals at Kingscourt in Cavan on 19th/20th March.
