The Avondhu

Hurling returns

-

Both our hurling teams will be in action this coming weekend as the Avondhu League starts, and both have home fixtures. First out will be the div 3 team and they will play Buttevant at 11am on Sunday. This will allow time to go have the Sunday dinner before returning to the pitch for the div 1 game against Charleville at 2pm. Training has been interrupted somewhat the last couple of weeks but following on from last season’s disappointing exit in the Junior HC the players and management will no doubt be keen on getting a couple of wins.

CLUB MEETING

The first monthly meeting since the AGM will be held on Monday, 14th March in the clubhouse. This meeting is open to all members and anyone who wishes to help their club is welcome to attend. With playing season upon us and the ongoing developments there will no doubt be plenty to discuss.

LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s lotto for €3,800 and the jackpot is now worth €4,000, the next draw will take place in Grendel’s on Friday, 18th March. The 5 lucky dip winners of €20 each were: Assumpta McCarthy, Padraig Lynch (Fermoy), Olan and Rosin Magner, Jerry Linehan, and Teagan Burke.

We would continue to encourage as many as possible to use the online facility at Clubforce, or alternatively, tickets can be purchased in the shop, the Roundy House, Grindels, or your usual seller. Thank you most sincerely to all the lotto players, ticket sellers, etc your support is greatly appreciated in these difficult times. Remember that any profits made on sale of lotto tickets goes towards the upkeep of the facilities. As you can all see works are ongoing at improving the community sports field.

MAIN CLUB SPONSORS

We have joint sponsors, Ballyhooly Homes and Quintas, please support if you can. In these difficult times it is great to have this support from our sponsors.
