Prim-Ed league update

-

All managers are asked to have the results phone number so that they can text in half-time and fulltime scores along with their teams’ scorers and a brief report if they wish. Both sides must phone in with the information, but it is the home side who is responsible for the result. Again, please text information to this phone number 0830890833.

U11, U10, U9, U8 and Academy fixtures are up on league website and clubs can arrange times that suit for these games between team managers. Please ensure fair play and even game time for all the boys and girls taking part. It is about learning, having fun and enjoyment with your friends.

Goalkeeping Course continues on Wednesday nights at the Cappoquin venue

U15 LEAGUE DIV 1 Valley Rangers 0 Inch United 2

Two goals from Ben Noonan were enough to give Inch United the win over Valley Rangers in a hard fought contest. The win gives Inch United a chance of taking the 1st division title if they can get the better of Mogeely in their final game, so it is all still to play for in this league.

Ardmore 1 Mogeely 5

Leaders Mogeely took a while to break down an Ardmore side that have battled hard all season. Indeed the strong sun was at fault for the opening goal for the visitors as the referee was unsighted when the ball had crossed the line for a throw in. Ardmore stopped up but the play went on with Mogeely scoring as a result. The visitors got a second just before the interval. Ardmore too had chances with Dominick Broderick twice going close. In the second half Mogeely continued to dominate the possession and added a further three goals, while Ardmore did find the net to bring their league season to a close. Scorers for Mogeely were Charlie Howard (2) Alex McSweeney, Mark O’Mahony and Rory Lynch while Tommy Carlton got the goal for Ardmore.

U13 LEAGUE

Clashmore Ramblers 3 Valley Rangers 0 - Clashmore received a walkover from Valley Rangers.

Ballyduff Rovers 0 Castlebridge Celtic 7

This game was played in Castlebridge with the home side running out comfortable winners. Castlebridge were 5-0 up at the interval and added a further two in the second half against an understrength Ballyduff Rovers outfit.

Ballybridge United 0 Ardmore 3 - Ardmore received a walkover from Ballybridge in this fixture.

Kilworth Celtic 3 Brideview United 1

This was a fine contest at Sheila Flynn park where Kilworth Celtic, the home side, just got the better of Brideview United. The top two sides produced a great contest with Kilworth taking a grip early on with goals from Danyl Pierce and Ryan Pierce. Brideview gradually grew into the game and pulled a goal back just before the interval with Ethan King on target to set it up nicely for the second half. Chances were created by both sides but it was Kilworth Celtic that got the crucial third goal with Luke Browne finishing off a very good move. Brideview tried hard in the closing stages but Kilworth were strong at the back and held out for a win that keeps their unbeaten run going. Kilworth, Brideview and Cappoquin will be in the hunt for the title but if they keep in this form it is hard to see them being beaten.

CONCLUDING STAGES

The League has now completed the opening round of matches and will now split into three divisions with teams all playing one another once more to decide the outcome of the titles. We should be in for a great climax to the season, while the Cup draws were also made at the delegate meeting last Thursday night and are listed below.
