Doneraile arts boosted by new funding
The Creative Ireland Grants Scheme has announced further funding for the year, and the town of Doneraile will be funded to the rute of €1,750 across two festivals. Both run by Art for the Heart, the group have been allocated €1,000 for the Doneraile Samhain Festival, to take place on October 29th and 30th.
Organiser Ann-Marie Simpson is looking forward to a spooky celebration.
“The Doneraile Samhain Festival is a blend of tradition and modern Hallowe’en fun. There will be a great mix of storytelling, dressing up, market stalls, workshops, competitions and even the Dino Ranger will be there, all finished off with a Hallowe’en disco at Eily’s Bar. We are expecting to have a weekend of fun, laughter and community togetherness!”
Art for the Heart have also been granted a further €750 for the Doneraile Art Festival (DAFT), to take place at the end of June. This year, the third iteration of the festival, over 12 art and craft workshops are planned, finishing with the Plein Air competition with a first prize of €1,000.
