St. Catherine’s NS goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations
Pupils from St. Catherine's National School, Conna made up for lost time by staging elaborate St. Patrick's Day celebrations on March 16th.
Spring like conditions facilated the outdoor event which was overseen by principal, Claire Flynn.
Pupils who spent weeks rehearing dance routines, delivered in spectacular fashion with foot perfect performances. Those taking on the always challenging Siege of Ennis also held it all together by getting their timing and co-ordination just right.
Students were given free rein when it came to attire with hats, face paint and scarves complementing the St. Patrick's Day parade look.
THINKING OF UKRAINE
As people line the streets of our towns and cities this Thursday, 17th March, spare a thought for citizens of Ukraine, especially children and the elderly cowering in basements in the face of a savage assault by Russian forces.
These individuals were certainly not forgetten by teachers and pupils of Conna National School who incorporated a 'Support For Ukraine' message with their festivities - Ukrainian flags stood side by side with the tricolour. A collection organised at short notice raised €500 with further amounts pledged.
