Successful weekend for local groups

-

It was a busy weekend for local groups on the drama festival circuit. Ballyduff and Palace Players had a very successful weekend on the road, Ballyduff bringing their total wins to date to no less than four from four festivals; Palace Players have recorded two wins and a second place with Brideview Drama recording a second and third place while having five festivals left to play.

Ballyduff with 'Rabbit Hole' by David Lindsay-Abaire, added wins from Roscommon, Mountmellick and their home turf Ballyduff, to the win garnered a week earlier in Rush Palace Players ('Chapatti' by Christian O'Reilly) took wins in Kerry and Doonbeg and finished in second place in the West Waterford festival behind Ballyduff.

This augers well for both groups who, at the time of writing, sit first and second respectively on the ADCI leader board. Palace Players played the West Cork Festival in Rossmore on Tuesday night while Ballyduff will grace the stage there on this Thursday, St Patrick's night.

Hoping for that all-elusive win, Brideview will take to the stage in Rossmore on Friday night and Rathangan (Kildare) on Sunday night.

Kilworth, in the confined section, are also chasing their first win with 'The Quiet Moment' by Mike FInn. They have recorded one second place and two thirds with four festivals left to play. They accounted very well for themselves on Sunday night in Rossmore and their next outing will be to Holycross (Tipperary) on Wednesday 23rd.
