MissQuote.ie Super League champions The Address UCC Glanmire finished off their season on Sunday with an 81-53 win over Trinity Meteors, thanks to strong second half, having only led 41-37 at the break.

Tierney Pfirman top scored for The Address UCC Glanmire on the day with 16 points, with Annaliese Murphy on 11 and Mia Furlong on 9. For Trinity Meteors, their attack was headed by Takya Gilbert (22), ALexxus Davis (10) and Sinead Keane (10)

The club were presented with the trophy in front of a bumper crowd at the Mardyke, with spectators making a donation to Ukraine, rather than paying an entrance fee for the game.

Speaking afterwards head coach Mark Scannell said: “We’re delighted with the win in a tough game against a much-improved Meteors team. It was a great day for our club, another well overdue Super League trophy. I’m thrilled for all those girls who worked so hard all year. Delighted that all the young kids in the club were able to enjoy a day like today and I want to thank all our committee members and sponsors for allowing us to do this properly.

“Also, to be able to support the Ukraine appeal was brilliant and we are grateful to all those who made the effort.”
