Congratula­tions to Pauline Mulcahy who was elected club president for 2022 last week. Pauline will join Gary, Margaret and Ellen for the Captains’ Drive-in Day on Sunday 3rd April. They are looking forward to welcoming their families, guests and all club members to share the day with them. Save the date and join in the fun.

ST PATRICK’S DAY CLUB MIXED SCRAMBLE

On St Patrick’s Day the club will hold a mixed scramble (straight scramble) with a shotgun start at 12 noon sharp. The competitio­n will be played over 12 or 18 holes (subject to entry and weather conditions). The entry sheet for this competitio­n is in the hall behind the Pro Shop until Tuesday, 15th March at 4pm. Contact Pro-Shop for further details. Golf and food is €10 and there will be music from 4pm on St Patrick’s day in the clubhouse.

THE GRAND FINAL OF ‘THE RACE TO ST PATRICK’S DAY’ POSTPONED

This will now take place next Sunday, 20th

March. Tee times for the final will be between 11.30am and 1.30pm. If you have qualified contact the Pro Shop regarding your tee time. The presentati­on will take place after the last group are finished. Thanks once again to our sponsors Murphy Fuels.

LADIES’ NEWS

Our ladies section held a 12 hole competitio­n from 3rd - 6th of March. Susan Carey topped the leader board with 31 points. Second place went to Kathleen Lonergan with 28 points and rounding off the prize winners was Miriam C Halley in 3rd place with 27 points. Great shooting ladies.

MEN’S NEWS

The final Race To Patrick’s Day Open Singles qualifier took place from Monday, 28th February until Sunday, 6th , March 2022. The results were as follows: Category 1: Shay Hughes 26pts 2nd Sam Morrissey 25pts, Category 2: Luke Healy 30pts 2nd Tony O’Sullivan 29pts(DC), Category 3: Patrick Feeney 31pts 2nd Vincent O’Brien 30pts.
