Over €2K raised for Ukraine

- KATIE GLAVIN

A bucket collection held before the recent Waterford v Tipperary match that saw €2,140.10 raised to aid efforts to help those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Tallow Councillor John Pratt took part in the fundraising effort outside Walsh Park before the match and thanked all those who contributed.

“I would like to thank everyone who contributed. I would also like to thank the collectors, Wlr FM, Tipp FM and the GAA for their support. This event was organised at very short notice and I want to thank the Gardai who helped make this happen,” Cllr Pratt said.

The funds raised have now been lodged to the Red Cross Ukraine Fund Account.

“This was our small effort to help those affected by this terrible atrocity and to show our unity with the people of Ukraine, both here in Ireland and in Ukraine. Hopefully there will be an end in sight soon,” Cllr Pratt added.
