THE FOGUE’S HOMETOWN GIG IS A HUGE HIT

-

Ballindangan was on a high on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day with a majestic performance by local band, The Fogues.

With half of the Fogues having attended Ballindangan NS, there was a real atmosphere of fun and craic coupled with immense talent and good humour. With many references to Ballindangan intertwined with banter about Mitchelstown and Curraghagalla, the audience had a truly enjoyable night.

The audience were treated to a range of classic traditional songs, coupled with hits such as ‘Cotton Eyed Joe’. The Fogues also included some of the original songs which feature on their album ' Long Nights in Pokey Places'. With a real blend of instruments, The Fogues showcased their musical and singing abilities with all four taking turns to sing with amazing harmonies and timing.

Micheál also showcased his Irish dancing skills to huge applause and the audience really enjoyed the rapid pace of his steps. With upcoming dates in Kilworth (Thursday next 31st) and Kilfinane, The Fogues are set for a really positive return to the big stage.

The social night in Ballindangan Hall was a great re-opening of the hall with a sell out show and the feedback on the night said it all: “Fantastic show”, “Unreal talent” and “a great night and great to be back in the hall with neighbours and friends”. Onwards and upwards for Ballindangan Hall!!
