2022 drives off

-

St. Patrick’s weekend saw a busy step up in activity at Mitchelstown Golf Club. We saw a weather reprieve for the long holiday weekend. The course was in great condition and we saw a good turnout for the St. Patrick’s Day scramble. Food, music and prizes were very generously sponsored by Kieran Dennehy, of Dennehy Builders, and food was provided by Bernie Caffrey. A total of €560 was raised for the Red Cross for Ukraine.

Friday 18th and Saturday 19th saw our weekly 15-hole scramble.

There was another 3-ball scramble on Sunday 20th, which also saw the annual drive-in take place at 1pm. President Kieran Casey, captain Kieran Dennehy, lady captain Mairead Perry and junior captain Clement Motherway all drove off from the 4th tee. Kate Biggane joined them, as last year’s drive-in was cancelled due to Covid.

Mitchelstown Golf Club was well represented in a well-attended

St. Patrick’s Day parade – great to see a return to same after 2 years of Covid cancellations.
