All-Ireland handball win

This weekend’s GAA Handball All-Ireland 40x20 Championsh­ip finals at Kingscourt, Co Cavan, where three Conna HC players took to the court.

On Saturday, 19th March, John Herlihy (Cork) won the Emerald Masters A final in a close tiebreaker against Tom Sweeney (Mayo), well done John on a great performanc­e.

On Sunday 20th March, Diarmuid O’Connell and Cian Dunning were runners up in a tough U16 doubles final, with Kilkenny boys John Hayes and Cathal Buckley taking the title.

In the adult doubles championsh­ip, Hugh Carolan (Conna HC) and Patrick Buckley (Glenville HC) teamed up to represent Cork in the Masters B Munster final on 16th March and came away with a good win against Clare’s Shane Walsh and Alan Cummins. Best of luck to Hugh and Patrick in their upcoming All-Ireland semi-final.
