Coláiste an Chraoibhín raise over €8.5K on Daffodil Day

- KATIE GLAVIN

For the first time in three years volunteers from Coláiste an Chraoibhín were out in force in the sunshine to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.

Collectors were well supported and lots of people gave donations, bought pins, pens, daffodils, tea towels etc., in order to support the cause.

This year those donating had the option to donate electronically using QR identification tags.

There was a great atmosphere around the town and people were in good spirits.

Organiser Maeve O’Callaghan thanked all those involved in the fundraiser

“A huge thank you to all the volunteers, collectors, students and local businesses. It was a pleasure to work with you all. Also, to those who gave so generously we are so grateful for your support and the collection of over €8,550 (at time of going to press).

“Your exceptional generosity means so much to The Irish Cancer Society and those in receipt of their services,” Ms O’Callaghan said.
