- JOHN AHERN

There was a warm welcome for everyone attending last Thursday’s open night at Curraglass National School. A rural school on the Cork/Waterford border, it’s now enrolling for September 2022.

A place of education since the 1880s, Curraglass continues to offers pupils a rounded and comprehensive education. Under the guidance of principal, Irene de Brun and her colleagues, children benefit from expert tuition as well as being introduced to a variety of extra curricular activities, with special emphasis on sport, culture and the Irish language.

CHANCE TO MEET

The open night brought together teachers, parents and prospective pupils. During the course of the evening, teachers were able to showcase what the school has to offer; for parents it was an opportunity to meet and enjoy some refreshments.

With regard to the younger ones, this was a chance for some extra play and entertainment.
