Ballygiblin get Premier JHL campaign off to a winning start

Ballygiblin with a good second half performance emerged 5 point winners over Ballygarvan in the RedFM Co Div 3 HL at Ballygiblin on Sunday.
Ballygarvan opened the scoring with an early point by Miceal O’Mahony. They followed with another point by Cormac Dowd. Ballygiblin opened with a goal by Colin English after Sean O’Sullivan’s effort was saved by keeper Garry White. Cormac Dowd (free) and Joseph O’Sullivan (free) exchanged a point. Michael Cussen levelled at 1-1 to 0-4. By the 18th minute they were level 1-2 to 0-5. Ballygiblin hit the front by Ryan Donegan. Stephen Fenton levelled again. Points for the home side by Colin English and impressive Joseph O’Sullivan opened up a close lead 0-8 to 1-4. Evan O’Connor levelled once more. By halftime the sides were deadlocked 0-9 to 1-6.
On the resumption Ballygiblin introduced Shane Beston and Lorcan Finn who made a huge difference. Ray O’Halloran and Joseph O’Sullivan had them tied at 0-10 to 1-7. They were also deadlocked at 0-11 to 1-8 and at 0-12 to 1-9. They were level for the 9th and last time at 1-10 to 0-13. Ballygiblin finished well in the last quarter Aaron
O’Brien, Colin English and Joseph O’Sullivan (2) made it 1-15 to 0-14 by the 56th minute. Good play by impressive Mark Keane led to the final score by Sean O’Sullivan.
