Fermoy swimmers back in competitiv­e action

Well done to our competitiv­e swimmers who travelled to the recent Munster Aspiring Champions Long Course Meet which took place in the University of Limerick. A busy weekend, we had plenty of great swimming, pbs, for our dedicated group of swimmers.

First up was Peter Verling in the 200m Freestyle, a great swim from Peter saw him get a time of 2.36. Finishing off his meet in style, Peter swam the 100m Backcrawl and achieved a time of 1.19 - a 13sec PB. Next up was William Verling in the 200m Freestyle, William swam the 200m in an amazing time of 2.22, William then went on to swim the 100m backcrawl in a time of 1.17 - a 2sec PB.

It was now time for the girls 13-14 years. First up was Emily Donohoe, on day one Emily swam the 100m Breaststro­ke in a time of 1.42, Emily then moved on to swim the 100m freestyle in a time of 1.18, Emily then returned on day two to swim the 100m backcrawl in a time of 1.39.

Next up in the same category was Evie Mai O’Donovan, Evie Mai’s first event was the 100m breaststro­ke achieving a time of 1.44, then Evie Mai went on to swim the 100m Freestyle in a time of 1.19, Evie Mai returned on day two to swim her final event of the weekend the 100m Backcrawl, swimming this in a time of 1.30.

Aoibhe Holland swam the 100m Backcrawl in a time of 1.31, Aoibhe went on to swim her final event of the day the 50m Freestyle in a time of 35.34. Emma Crowley was now up swimming the 100m Backcrawl in a time of 1.24 a PB of 11sec following on from this Emma swam the 100m Fly in a time of 1.37.

WHAT A WEEKEND FOR T HESE YOUNG GIRLS, WATCH THIS SPACE!

Next up we had Eabha Burke who swam the 100m Backcrawl in 1.24 - a PB of 6sec. Eabha then went on to swim the 50m Breaststro­ke in a time of 46sec, and the 400m Freestyle in a time of 5.26.

Taking time out from their studies. Lauryn O’Donovan swam the 100m Breaststro­ke in a time of 1.44, and the 100m Freestyle achieving a time of 1.17 on day one. Returning on day two, Lauryn swam the 100m backcrawl in a time of 1.33, not finished there Lauryn then went on to swim the 50m Breaststro­ke 46sec.

Jodie Baker on day one swam the 100m Breaststro­ke in a time of 1.18 - a 1sec PB. Jodie then went on to swim the 100m Freestyle achieving a time of 1.03. On day two, Jodie swam the 200m Freestyle in 2.22, 200m Individual Medley in 2.37, finishing off her day with the 50m Freestyle in 28sec. Amy Hawe who swam the 100m backcrawl in a time of 1.20 - a PB of 4sec. Amy then went on to swim the 200m IM in a time of 2.52 - another PB of 5sec.

Back to the boys in the 15-16-year-olds, we had Zach Daniels-Howard who swam the 100m Backstroke in a time of 1.15 - a 6sec PB. Up next was Dara Hanrahan who swam the 100m Backcrawl in 1.33, after a long day waiting around Dara got to swim his final two events the 50m Freestyle in a time of 35sec, and the 200m Breaststro­ke in 3.35.

vidual Medley in a time of 3.06. Flying the flag for the boys on day two, Sam O’Brien swam the 100m Breaststro­ke in a time of 1.30 - a PB of 10sec. Sam then went on to

swim the 100m Freestyle in a time of 1.10 - an amazing PB of 12sec.

Well done to all who competed over the weekend, you did your club proud.
