New members welcome

As the new season kicks off, we welcome new members to the club. If you are looking to join please call up to the clubhouse, fill out a form, which can be found above the red green fees box and gave it to any club member. It’s a very cheap and cheerful game. We have hosted a lot of big competitio­ns this year. The ladies National Strokeplay, the ladies and gents counties, threeball scramble and that’s only a small selection of what we have. The course is top class. We are also open for green fees as well. Here is a list of prices

MEMBERSHIP FEES 2022

Family- €145, adult - €100, student - €60, over 65 - €70, widowed - €70, juvenile - €40, associate member - €80, green fees adults €5, juveniles €3.

LADIES REPORT

On Tuesday, 22nd March the ladies played a fourball stroke. We had a nice crowd playing and also our gents were out for a practice and it all made for a lovely afternoon on the course. Looking forward to seeing all our beginners back when the competitio­n time changes in a few weeks’ time. The winners on the day were overall nett Theresa O’Keeffe and Kathleen Grumbridge, 2nd nett Kathleen Lee and Catherine O’Gorman. A big thank you to all who donated to the Ukraine appeal.

UPCOMING EVENTS

There will be a competitio­n starting on Monday, 4th April and will run until Sunday, 10th April. Last card 5pm Sunday and it will run for the week. It will be a multi-card so play as often as you like. It will be €3 a card. There will be a sponsor competitio­n week after keep an eye on notice board. The prizes will be overall nett gross ladies and gents nett. We hope to see a good crowd. You can play anytime you like. It does not have to be a draw time. We will be starting 4 balls soon also on a Thursday night. Keep eye on notice board.

TEE BOX SPONSOR

Also we are currently looking for members to sponsor a tee box (cost of €60). We are currently getting new holders build for each tee box (27 in total). We would appreciate if members could help out with sponsorshi­p for the holders. As we are the hosts of the Cork strokeplay for both ladies and gents this year and also the hosts to the National Ladies Strokeplay this year. These improvemen­ts are really needed to improve our course to the highest standard. Please contact John Cahill on 086 9577997 with your sponsorshi­p.

COURSE WORK

We like to say thank to everyone who does savage work on the course. It’s coming on lovely and making great progress and starting to make great shape. Keep up the good work. Well done to JJ O’Connor who won the 1-3 grade in Majestic over the weekend with a score of -8.
