‘An Evening of Drama’ in Conna and Ballynoe

-

There will be a great mix of young and not-so-young on stage in Conna and Ballynoe over this weekend (Friday Conna, Saturday Ballynoe) for ‘An Evening of Drama’ - the result of a collaboration between neighbouring groups - Conna Dramatic Society and the Ogham Players. This is both a fundraiser and an opportunity to introduce some new talent to the stage, so your support will be appreciated.

The younger folk will get the evening under way with a play called ‘Selfies’ under the direction of Niamh Twomey with a cast that includes Ava Dowling, Eyrin Dillon, Saorla Twomey, Colum Feeney, Colm Hurley, Sara Mai Clancy, Anna Hurley and Caoimhe McCormack - all aged between 13 and 17.

This will be followed by a monologue from Pete Barry entitled ‘A Marriage of Convenience’. Pete is no stranger to the stage so this should be an interesting piece. The first half will conclude with a sketch which was written by the Ogham Players entitled ‘Take the Train’ and will feature James Burke, Jacinta Kilamartin and Liz Higgins.

Two one act plays will give us an equally entertraining second half - ‘The Cat and the Monkey’ performed by the Ogham Players - a two-hander starring Daphne DeCoster and Pat Aherne. This is directed by Liz Higgins and will be followed by ‘Baby Talk’ directed Aisling Heffernan with a cast that includes Laura Hyde, Tony Curtin, Mairead O’Driscoll and Pat Ahern.

The shows start at 8.30 on both nights - in Conna on this Friday and in Ballynoe on Saturday.
