BARRYMORE PLAYERS TO HONOUR ALMA FENTON AND EILEEN CULLINANE

-

Barrymore Players are feeling the void of the passing of two of our esteemed members, Alma Fenton whose passing was so untimely had acted, directed and filled so many other roles with the same commitment, professionalism and great fun.

Eileen Cullinane (Eily) who was our President and a former actress in productions in Castlelyons, passed away suddenly in her 98th year. A very gentle lady who was highly accomplished when on stage and made every role her own, a lifetime supporter of drama in Castlelyons and in Conna, having acted in both.

A three-act comedy is planned for late October and early November in Castlelyons under the direction of Jennie O’Flaherty, our two past members will be honoured at each production, the money raised from the nightly raffles along with a donation from Barrymore Players will be presented to Denis, Isobel and Alan Fenton for presentation to Marymount Hospice.

Other events are in the pipeline for late summer and the spring. At present, a drama workshop for adults is being arranged and the possibility a Drama Summer Camp for the younger age group. More on this as details are completed.
