FIRST CLASS HELPING STREET ANGELS

-

1st Class with Ms Collins have been very busy since returning to school in January. For geography we were discussing kind deeds in winter when we had a chat with Michelle in our school. Michelle volunteers with Street Angels.

Street Angels are a charity that helps the homeless community in Cork city and county. When 1st class heard about Street Angels they decided they would love to volunteer. We decided to do a food drive but there was a catch. We had to do jobs at home to earn the food we would bring in.

The boys and girls in Ms Collins’ 1st Class cleaned attics, tidied toy rooms, helped change nappies, helped younger brothers and sisters get dressed, matched socks, made breakfast and dinner and did the dishes.

Michelle then heard about a treat that Street Angels were arranging for the homeless community. They were going to be given treat bags with some extra food and treats! So, 1st Class got busy packing the bags. We put in chocolate bars, chocolate fingers, jammy dodgers and sweets, all with a smile on our faces. Well done to Ms Collins’ 1st Class for all their hard work!
