ALL-IRELAND SCHOOLS BADMINTON CHAMPIONS

Congratula­tions to both the U16 girls and boys badminton teams who are All-Ireland Schools Badminton title winners after two fantastic finals in Gormanstow­n last week.

The girls team was Síbhe Collins, Kate Ahern, Molly Kenneally, Niamh Ryan and Nora Ahern and the boys team consisted of Tom Ahern, Oisín Hannigan, Brian Bourke, Cian O’Mahony, Charlie Nicholson and Eoin Rooney. We are delighted with their success and also salute Sheena Wilkinson, Lucie Higgins and Dervla Finnerty, the badminton coaches. And we also want to thank our local clubs, Lismore, Ballyduff and Blackwater Juvenile Clubs for their support.

LCA NEWS

Well done to our LCA students who carried out on of their key assignment­s during which consisted of cooking lunch for 20 people. Delicious food enjoyed by the group.

TRANSITION YEAR NEWS

After a great day out last week at Castlecome­r Discovery Park we wish all our TY students all the best this week as they are out in the business community on a week of work experience. Thanks again to all the local business enterprise­s who assist us in supporting this module.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

This week we have a number of games taking places, a camogie match for 5th years against Kinsale, the U15 hurling team compete against Dungarvan, 1st Year camogie play against Fermoy, the 2nd Year basketball team have a game against New Ross and the TY students will attend the Pope John Paul Award ceremony this Thursday in Waterford Cathedral.
