Balllyhooly Cork 88th Scout Group - #ClimbwithCharlie Event

-

It wouldn’t be like the Ballyhooly Scout Group to let the grass grow under their feet. And so, true to form, they turned out in style last Saturday morning to support the #ClimbwithCharlie Campaign in aid of two wonderful organizations, Pieta House and IMNDA.

With young and old taking part, the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Scout Leaders and parents struck off for the summit of their local Nagle Mountains at 6am, beneath the cover of darkness. Making light work of the assent to Knocknaskagh, they enjoyed seeing the Darkness Turn Into Light and witnessed the sun rising over the picturesque Blackwater Valley.

Having arrived at the summit, they enjoyed a veritable feast cooked on open fires by the scout leaders. All food for the event was generously sponsored by Denis Downey of the Spar in Castletownroche. Sincere thanks Denis. Your support is much appreciated.

The group especially set-up an iDonate Page for the event and at the time of going to print, the page had raised in excess of €2,225. Thanks to all who sponsored so generously. The iDonate page will remain open until the 1st May and can be accessed at the following link - Ballyhooley 88th scouts - www.idonate.ie.

Thanks to everybody who made this wonderful event happen. It was lovely to have been a part of something as special as the #ClimbwithCharlie Event. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
