MEDAL PRESENTATION

A very enjoyable function was held at the Corbett Court on Saturday, March 19th to acknowledge and celebrate our historic junior footballers who captured the clubs first North Cork title in 2021. Special guest on the night was Avondhu Board vice chairman John Courtney with club chairman John Heggtveit acting as MC.

Both John’s congratulated the team and management on a fantastic achievement with John Heggtveit then presenting the players with their medals. Special presentations were also made on the night to Patsy O’Mahony on his induction into the Avondhu Hall of Fame in 2019; to Eoin Carey who was part of the Cork U20 team that won the delayed 2020 All-Ireland final, played in July 2021; and to John Horgan on winning the 2020 All-Ireland handball over 35B singles final played in November 2021.

Thanks to all those who were involved in organising the nights events and to Declan and the team at the Corbett Court for the lovely meal and great hospitality.

Main club sponsors: Mike Walsh Pharmacy, Ahearne’s Pub, The Village Inn, KDC Ltd, Kilally Stables and Mitchelstown Dental Clinic.
