Fixture disruption

-

Fixture disruption continues as Covid-19 again raised its head this week with a number of fixtures having to be postponed. With the clock going back it is hoped to catch up on these fixtures with midweek games, but with GAA games scheduled for four nights of the week, it is proving difficult to get nights that suit everyone.

Also, the fixture secretary does not have a crystal ball, so if there is confirmation, communion etc. coming up, let us know in advance so that we can try to work around it. With Easter holidays coming up some managers are away which will cause further disruption to fixtures.

U11, U10, U9, U8 and Academy fixtures are up on league website and clubs can arrange times that suit for these games between team managers. Please ensure fair play and even game time for all the boys and girls taking part. It is about learning, having fun and enjoyment with your friends.

U14 1ST DIVISION - THURSDAY MARCH 31 Ardmore 0 Brideview United 8

The visitors proved too strong for an understrength Ardmore side who were without 8 players on the night. Still, they managed to field a team and had two subs as well so fair play to them. Brideview led by 3-0 at the interval with two of their goals of the soft variety. Ardmore continued to battle and even in the second half they fought well with a late scoring burst giving the visitors a comfortable victory in the end.

U13 DIVISION 1 Inch United 2 Kilworth Celtic 3

This was a cracking contest played at Sexton Park. The visitors led by 2-1 with goals from Roan Hyland and Luke Browne, while Kelly Asibar replied for the home side. Oscar Power drew Inch United level but Peter Sarsfield came up with the winner for Kilworth Celtic who are pushing strongly for the division 1 title with Cappoquin/Railway also in the hunt.

SATURDAY, APRIL 2 - U11 CUP QUARTER-FINAL

Mogeely B 6 Ballybridge Blues 4; Mogeely A 1 Ardmore 4; Cappoquin Railway 1 Lismore 9.

Three of the U11 Cup quarter-finals took place with Mogeely B getting the better of Ballybridge Blues in a ten goal thriller. Not as many goals in the Mogeely A contest where visitors Ardmore upset the odds to win by 4-1 and set up a semi-final meeting with Lismore who proved far too strong for Cappoquin/Railway in their game.

U13 CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND Clashmore 5 Ballybridge 2

Plenty of goals in this U13 cup contest played at Pablo Park on Saturday. The home side came out on top with a hat-trick of goals from Darragh Kelleher while Jack Kenneally and Tommy Roche also found the net for the winners.

Clashmore v Castlebridge 12.30pm Pablo Park. Referee Bobby Coonan

U15 CUP QUARTER-FINALS Lismore 3 Valley Rangers 0

Lismore received a walk over from Ballybridge in this game.

SUBWAY INTER LEAGUE - SUNDAY, APRIL 3 U13 Waterford 5 WW/EC 0

All five goals came in the second half in this game.

U12 South Tipperary 2 WW/EC 2

WW/EC led 2-0 at the interval, but South Tipp fought back to earn the draw. Reports on these games elsewhere in the notes.

Please note that mid-week fixtures are now in play so if teams are changing nights, they must contact the referee first to see if he can accommodate the fixture.
