Our U17s got back to training in mid February in anticipation of the 2022 season. Our first football game was versus Ballycastle Gaels at home. The boys put in a very strong performance and came out on top at the final whistle on a scoreline of 3-05 to 1-07.

Next up was our hurling again versus Ballycastle Gaels. This was a very tight game throughout with Kildorrery loosing out in the end by a single point. Final score, 2-07 to Kildorrery and 1-11 to Ballycastle Gaels.

On 28th March we took on Dromtarriffe in football. The boys put on a great performance pulling away as the game went on and wining on a score of 6-08 to 3-09. On Friday night last we travelled to Newmarket to test our mettle in hurling. Down by 5 points at half time the lads didn’t give up and fought back, raining in scores in the final 3 minutes of the game to clinch the win. Final score Kildorrery 2-20 to Newmarket’s 3-14.

Our next outing is football versus BK Plunketts at home on Monday next the 11th April at 6.30pm. With the boys out almost every night we gave training a miss on Monday and instead had a team talk and get together with the U17s in Oaklawn where we had a discussion on game strategy and tactics washed down with plenty of tea and biscuits. We will be back training on Thursday and hopeful of the full squad in attendance.
