THOMAS WINS GOLDEN GOAL

Shanbally United U15s had their first league game on Saturday away to Clonmel Celtic. They enjoyed a three goal lead at halftime thanks to goals from Conor English, Keelan Williams and Colm O’Flynn and held out for a good win at the end on a scoreline of 3-2.

The juniors were at home to Wilderness Rovers in the third round of the Tipperary Cup.

The away side raced into an early lead after 4 minutes and dominated much of the first half. Vee created a number of half chances but never really threatened the away keeper. In the second half the home side tried to push on but but found the Wilderness defence a tough nut to crack and so the early proved to be enough to send the visitors to the next round of the Cup.

Golden goal winner was Thomas Quirke (Snr).
