The footballer­s had double success over the weekend with both teams recording wins in their respective leagues.

Mitchelsto­wn 2-17 Dromtarrif­fe 0-11

Mitchelsto­wn gathered their second brace of points when they accounted for Dromtarrif­fe in the Cork Credit Unions football league on the above score line at Mitchelsto­wn on Sunday last. When Aaron O’Brien scored from the penalty spot in the third minute Mitchelsto­wn were always in control and the same player added three more first half points to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Dylan Reidy Price also raised a green flag and a brace of points from Sean Walsh, Michael Walsh and Joseph ensured the win was in the bag long before the final whistle.

Mitchelsto­wn gathered their first win in the Cavanagh’s of Fermoy div three football league defeating Killavulle­n on the above score line at Mitchelsto­wn on Monday night last. Three points from the boot of Aron O’Brien following on from his 1-05 on Sunday were instrument­al in the victory. A goal from Colin McNamara in the seventeent­h minute, two points from Aaron O’Brien and a white flag from Colin McNamara had the half time score 1-04 to 0-4 in favour of the home team.

The opening ten minutes of the second half saw the teams share the spoils with two points each with Town’s scores coming from the boot of Stephen Kenneally. Points from P O’Gorman, Leon Murphy, Podge Finn and Colin McNamara with just a one point reply from the opposition saw the final score 1-10 to 0-7.
