We had a good turnout for our last kurling session on Tuesday 29th April. Peg Sheedy’s team finally got the better of Fermoy. Our next session will be on Tuesday the 12th April at 10.30. Prizes for the individual competitio­n will be given out that morning.

Our next afternoon social will be held on Wednesday, 13th April at 2.30. We are having an Easter competitio­n, you can design a miniature garden, an Easter basket or card and prizes will be awarded for each section. We will also have Brian Motherway giving a talk on security and fraud.

Bingo every Monday night at 8pm in Heaphy Grove Hall, Jackpot now at €210.

An outing to Conna Day Care Centre has been arranged for Monday the 25th April for lunch and a game of bingo, spaces are limited if you haven’t given your name please contact Maureen on 087-9318549. If interested in going to a social on Friday 29th April at 7.30 pm in Ballynoe Community Hall in conjunctio­n with Cork County Federation of Muintir na Tire, guest speaker will be Kevin McCormack, there will be refreshmen­ts, music and dancing contact Maureen for details.

Our charity this year is ‘Break through Cancer’ our fundraiser will be held on Wednesday the 11th May (details to follow). A visit to a garden centre arranged for Wednesday 8th June. Our summer outing will take place on 22nd June details later.

Our gardening group are very busy planting seeds and we look forward to a big harvest in the months ahead. We are also expanding our recreation area for summer socials in July and August.

If interested in learning more about the use of smart phones our secretary has just completed and graduated as a mentor on a Hi Digital course run by Active Retirement Ireland and Vodaphone and is now available to do one to one training with our members in Heaphy Grove Hall.
