Deepest sympathies are extended to the Fennessy family Kilballybo­y, Clogheen on the death of Mick Fennessy, as he was affectiona­lly known.

Mick was a gentleman, a great supporter of Manchester United and would often travel to see his favourite club in action at Old Trafford with his great friend Thomas Quirke. Mick is survived by his wife Margaret, son Sean, daughter Sarah, grandchild­ren, sisters Ann, Elsie and Eleanor, brothers John, Pat, David, James and Freddie and all his extended family.

Following requiem Mass in Clogheen church, he was laid to rest in Duhill cemetery. May he rest in peace.

NELLIE O’CONNELL R.I.P.

The death occurred recently of Nellie O’Connell (nee Tobin) of Duhill Ballylooby, after a short illness. Nellie was in her mid-nineties, enjoyed great health and was a lovely happy person and would always enjoy a chat and a bit of craic. Nellie was predecease­d by her husband Willy. She is survived by her daughters

Ann Ryan, Eileen Flynn, Honora Murphy, Margaret Carey, Alma English and Patricia Etherson, sons in law, grandchild­ren and all her extended family. Following Requiem Mass in Duhill, She was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

On Easter Sunday next at 11.30 a wreath will be laid and the 1916 proclamati­on will be read at the new monument to Sean Hogans IRA no.2 Flying Column and the local Active Service Company. All are welcome to attend.
