Easter GAA camp in Fermoy a big hit

- JOHN AHERN

A 3 day GAA camp in the grounds of St. Colman’s College, Fermoy attracted hundreds of young boys and girls. Organisers got the ball rolling on Tuesday morning with lots of aspiring GAA stars turning up in their best training gear.

The event was very well organised, with plenty of activities laid on for participants. Fun games, enjoyable exercise techniques, training drills, ball work and even some tennis were on the agenda.

RIORDAN’S SUPERVALU COME ON BOARD AS SPONSORS

Camp organisers are grateful to Michael O’Riordan (Riordan’s SuperValu, Fermoy) for coming on board as camp sponsor. Michael contributes a lot to local sports and social clubs.

ENDORSED BY THE SPILLANE BROTHERS

Getting the blessing of elite hurlers, Colm and Anthony Spillane from Castlelyons is no harm and both siblings were to the fore in keeping things running smoothly over the 3 days.

The lads got great help from students and staff in St. Colman’s College, Fermoy.

TIRED BUT HAPPY

The spacious grounds of St. Colman’s College proved ideal. The facility also has plenty of car parking space. Participants went home a bit wet on Tuesday afternoon, but no one seemed to mind. Young limbs were also a bit tired, but this was nothing a good night’s rest wouldn’t rectify.
