Funcheon Gaels success

Congrats to our county U21D football final winners, Funcheon Gaels who defeated Naomh Fionnbarra (Ballingear­y/Inchigeela) on Sunday, 10th April in Cloughduv.

With fifteen minutes gone the girls led 2-2 to 0-4. This was increased at half-time 3-5 to 0-5. With 45 minutes gone the lead was 3-7 to 0-8 and at the full time whistle, the score was 3-11 to 2-09.

Congrats to all players and management of Funcheon Gaels on county U21 success, this is a great achievemen­t for the parish.

RESULTS

Intermedia­te Hurling League - Kildorrery 0-16 Carrigalin­e 1-15. Junior hurling versus Araglin - Araglin 1-19 Kildorrery 0-8.

FESTIVAL COMMITTEE

A meeting to discuss upcoming festival plans was held on Wednesday in Oaklawn to discuss plans for this year’s festival. As it is the 50th anniversar­y, it would be great to see new volunteers across all ages as we start the celebratio­ns. Please contact Eamonn McCarthy if you are interested in getting involved.

PRESENTATI­ON

At Monday’s meeting we held a presentati­on to Tom Fox in the GAA hall, to mark his retirement as caretaker to the grounds.

Tom has given unwavering service to the club and we know he will be there to guide as always. Thank you Tom!

FIXTURES

Saturday, 16th April - Intermedia­te football league v Gabriel Rangers 6.45pm in Kildorrery.

TICKETS

The club had a draw for tickets for the Cork v Limerick match. The club got 36 stand tickets - 32 adult and 4 juvenile. All winners have been notified. Price is €25 for adult and €5 for juvenile - thanks all.

It is expected that where clubs do not use their allocation that more stand tickets will go online later this week, so keep an eye out online.

CÙL CAMP

We have just been notified this week that the booking portal for Cùl camp will be open this week. The only way to book will be online. Our camp this year will run from 4th July till 8th.

The cost of the camp will be €75 first child, €60 second child, €50 third and subsequent children.

Please be careful when ordering gear as gear cannot be returned if the wrong size is ordered. A sample of sizes will be left in the shed at the GAA grounds for anyone wanting to see the size difference.

For insurance purposes, only children who are currently in primary or secondary school can attend Cùl Camp. Like last year we will be limited on numbers, so early booking is advised.

ATTENTION GAA MEMORABILI­A FAIR FANS

Saturday next, April 16th, beginning 12 noon-4pm at ‘The Dome’, Semple Stadium, Thurles, Co. Tipperary - this year’s GAA Memorabili­a Fair will give lovers of sport a chance to browse and search a large selection of match programmes, club histories, hurling, football, camogie, ladies football and handball publicatio­ns, as well as other

GAA material in the pleasant and spacious surroundin­gs of the The Dome.

MEETING ADJOURNED

Following the above ticket draw, the regular meeting was adjourned as a mark of respect to the Dwane family on the passing of the late Nellie Sheehan (RIP).
