After week two of The Corbett Court Sponsored League (which is proving very competitiv­e to borrow a phrase from the other small ball game “not a puck of a ball between the Teams”), Team D, Noreen Ryan, Patsy O’Mahony, Jerry Greehy, Tom Kenneally, Seamus O’Connell are top of the table on a score of 308.

Team H, Kay Riley, Jerry Burke, John McCarthy, Maria Roche, Sheila Hegarty, Ella Lovett, are a close second on 312. Team C, Breda O’Keeffe, John Hogan, Christy Murphy, Paul Magnier, Mary Quane are third on a score of 316. Team G, Barry Doyle, Michael O’Keeffe, Michael McGrath, Noel Scannell, Seamus Fox, are 4th on 321.

It is all to play for going into the final qualifier which will be played on Sunday 24th. April.

This weeks best nett ladies Noreen Ryan 48. Best Gross Helen Tobin 67. Gents best nett Dan Noonan 46. Best gross Patsy O’Mahony (on the back 9) 58.

Tuesday afternoon’s fourball competitio­n (two scores to count at number 9 and 18) winners were John Hogan and Nan Downey which included a hole in one at number one by John Hogan with a score of 501/2 nett. Patsy O’Mahony and Sheila Hegarty were gross winners on a score of 68. Michael Gowen and Margaret Kiely were 2nd nett winners on a score of 53. Thursday afternoon’s Scotch foursome competitio­n winners were Jerry Burke and Sheila Hegarty on a score of 53. Michael O’Meara and Margaret Kiely were gross winners on a score of 56.

There will be no league competitio­n on Easter Sunday, we will however have the usual Sunday morning competitio­n, tee-off 10.30am. We wish a Happy Easter to everyone.
