The Avondhu

BACK IN FULL SWING

-

Our golf course is now fully up and running for the season with all holes open, bunkers prepared/repaired and in full play, and returned scores now counting for handicap index purposes.

Playing conditions were good this past weekend but in some challenging cold and windy conditions. We saw a reasonable turnout for our weekly 18-hole open competition.

Recent rain has helped to wash in the top dressing of sand and the greens continue to improve in response to gentle nurturing by our green staff. Please help to maintain the high standard of our as course by replacing divots, repairing pitch-marks, and raking bunkers after (hopefully infrequent) use!

We now have our 12-hole Tuesday competitions up and running for the coming months. Our Wednesday 18-hole qualifiers – kindly sponsored by Keary’s Motors - has also begun and will run each Wednesday through until September.

Next weekend’s (15th/16th/17th Apr) 18-hole Open is sponsored by The Village. On Easter Monday (18th April) there will be a Texas twoball – please see BRS for details. As ever we welcome new member applications – for info on membership please phone Dolores at the office on 025-24072.
