U19 footballers claim the win
Glenville 7-11 Carrigtwohill 4-08
Glenville U19 footballers got their league underway at home to Carrigtwohill on Wednesday evening last. A first half full of pace and good movement led to some great scores from our forwards, and which led to a healthy lead at halftime.
The second half was a more even affair with Carrigtwohill getting much more into the game and after a good lively game Glenville came out on top on a scoreline of Glenville 7-11 Carrigtwohill 4-08. Well done lads.

U13S
Glenville U13s travelled to Blarney on Saturday, hoping to improve on a poor performance against Donoughmore a fortnight ago. The lads certainly started strongly, implementing what they had been working hard on at training. At half-time Glenville were ahead 3-4 to 0-3 and we could only see one outcome.
Blarney were having none of it though and made a blistering start to the second half, rattling off a couple of goals early on. Our backs, having done so well in the first half just couldn’t stay tight enough to Blarney’s forwards who scored some good points from play. Added to this, Glenville’s indiscipline allowed Blarney to tag on a few easy frees and with 5 minutes to go we were down by a point, having been 10 points up at halftime. However the Glenville lads just don’t know how to quit. After a few points back and forth Glenville set up camp in front of Blarney’s goals and finished by scoring 1-3 in the dying minutes. Final score Blarney 2-13 Glenville 4-11.
U11S
What a great morning of football and hearty congratulations to all the boys who played today. They worked hard, played some great football and the teamwork was a joy to behold. The lads have now qualified for the John Kerins football tournament to be played in Páirc Uí Rinn on 11th June.
We won 2 out of 3 games and therefore topped the group. First up Glenville defeated Na Piarsiagh 4-04 2-03. In the second game we beat Carrigaline 5-03 1-0. In the final game the boys had their first defeat in losing a fantastic game to Douglas 4-03 5-03. Thanks to all the parents who supported the lads and the countdown to our trip to Páirc Uí Rinn begins now! Mark the date in your calendar.

U17 DIV 1
Glenville 2-9 Midleton 5-5
A game of 2 halves as Midleton dominated the early stages and built up an early lead but Glenville began to take control and pulled the lead back to a goal near the end but Midleton held out with a late surge to win out.
U17 C3 Glenville 0-10 Diarmuid ó Murchu 6-11
The Crosshaven/Shamrocks combination were physically stronger here and in fairness stuck at it all through in a pretty even game even though the scoreline may suggest otherwise. Great performances from our younger players.
U12
Glenville played Mayfield in the Fe12 football grading league in Glenville Monday, 4th April. It was a good competitive game with Mayfield leading 2-6 to 2-3 at half-time. Glenville took some early scores in the second half but couldn’t reel Mayfield in. Mayfield eventually winning on a score line of 2-14 to 3-5.
DADS AND LADS
Dads and Lads is a social football and hurling programme for those keen to enjoy Gaelic games outside the traditional competitive structures of the GAA. The philosophy of GAA for Dads and Lads is all about participation and the camaraderie that only team sports can offer. The small-sided adapted games allow for incidental contact only (to minimise any risk of injury) so skills are to the fore over physicality. The games are self-governed
– no referees. We recently started a Dads and Lads football and hurling group in Glenville and it has proved a great success so far, with numbers increasing every night.
