NEW MEMBERS WELCOME

As we kick-start the new season we welcome new members to the club. There has been a lot of work done over the last few weeks and the course is in top shape. This year we hosts the ladies’ All-Irelands, the gents and ladies counties, threeball scramble scratch cup and open week - for such a cheap game and for the course you get. Even pop in for a game with your friends, green fees always open. Any inquiries send a message to the social media page. Membership fees 2022 are family- €145, adult - €100, student - €60, over 65 - €70, widowed - €70, juvenile - €40, associate member - €80, green fees adults €5 juveniles €3.

LADIES REPORT

On Tuesday, 4th April the ladies played a fourball stroke competitio­n. The winners were overall nett Noreen Ryan and Terry Cleary, 2nd nett Theresa O’Keeffe and Breda Kennedy. At a recent ladies’ meeting held in the clubhouse, sponsored competitio­ns were set out starting on Tuesday, 26th April, Kathleen Grumbridge and Catherine O’Gorman sponsored prize, Tuesday, 3rd May, Terry Cleary and

Nell McCarthy sponsored prize will take place. Note time change to 6.30pm. Ladies keep 9th July free, the lady captain’s Michelle Flynn’s prize is taking place starting at 11pm. An exciting and fun day is assured.

A vote of sympathy was passed to the Daly family and Ann Neligan on the sad passing of Mary Daly. Our prayers are with the family. Ann Neligan is a great supporter and friend to the ladies club. The club wishes a speedy recovery to Noel Neligan. Noel was a superb groundsman in the club for many years and looked after the course with great pride.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Keep an eye on the window and notice board for upcoming events. There are a few sheets up in the clubhouse on the noticeboar­d that members might be interested in so pop in and have a look.

CORK SCHOOLS COMPETITIO­N

Well done to Cian McGirr and his team-mates who finished 4th overall in the schools competitio­n in Bishopstow­n. Cian had the second best score on the day with -3, well done to him and keep up the good play!
