PRIM-ED U12 LEAGUE Brideview United 4 Ballyduff Rovers 0

With our U15 team having already being crowned league champions, we were wondering could our U12 team do likewise on a beautiful sunny morning in Leonard Fraser Park. The answer of course was yes we could and the boys and girl finished their league programme with some style.

Rovers were first into the action, testing keeper Jack Dee, who got down well to deny Rovers an early goal. After this United came more into the game. A goal from Paul Hegarty (17th minute) and a Harry Power goal just before the break saw United go in at the break two goals in front.

Rovers tested Dee early in the second half but Dee saved well. Goal number three came from Power in the 41st minute. Then in the final minute a great United move involving Murphy, Alian who crossed a great ball to the inrushing Hegarty to crash the ball low to the net.

This saw the final whistle blow a minute later to the delight of players, managers and supporters of Brideview. Well done boys and Sophie (who had a great game in defence). Well done also to coaches Georgina, Sinead and Uli (who is on holidays). All three did an excellent job with the squad. What’s also important is all of the panel got game time, even our other keeper Edward Kaulins came on outfield.

Brideview United squad: Jack Dee, Sophie McCarthy, Josh Mangan, David Murphy, Barra Alian, Paul Hegarty, Oscar Cunningham, James McDonnell, Darragh Donovan, Oisin Lynn, Harry Power, Edward Kaulins.

A good performance from our boys here who travelled to Clashmore without some members due to Covid. However, they still managed to get a good result. First half goals from Adam Pratt (2) and Oscar Morrison saw United go in at the break 3-0 in front. Further goals in the second half from Pratt and Alian saw the visitors run out winners to keep the coach happy. Well done boys.
