Glenroe volunteers support TLC7

- EMILY AHERNE

Thirty-five volunteers turned out in Glenroe on Good Friday to take part in a community litter pick in collaboration with the annual Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC7). Fourteen teams of litter pickers took to the roads of Glenroe as part of the major county-wide clean-up operation which is now in its 7th year.

After a 2-year hiatus, TLC7 returned bigger than ever, with a record breaking 21,300 volunteers from across the city and county donning their familiar high viz vests, giving the city and county the biggest spring clean to-date.

The hard workers in Glenroe got a chance to gather for a well deserved cup of tea and other refreshments at the local hall. It was an extra special occasion this year as all were delighted to have the opportunity to meet up with friends from the community after such a long time, with Covid restrictions in recent times having limited the opportunity for a social gathering.
