Van collides with parked car in Kilworth
A man was arrested following an incident in Kilworth on Saturday week last when a van struck a parked car.
Witnesses to the collision rang 999 at the time and reported the incident, according to An Garda Síochana.
“The offending vehicle did not get too far on its three remaining wheels,” a Garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí subsequently arrested the male driver nearby for drunk driving and subsequently charged the man with a road traffic offence.
An investigation file is also being prepared in relation to other offences arising from the collision.
“On this occasion, nobody was hurt. This is a reminder that it is never OK to drink and drive, next time could cost somebody their life. Our message is always straightforward: arrive alive,” the spokesperson added.
