Brideview say goodbye to ‘Beauty Queen’

- EMILY AHERNE

Brideview Drama Tallow have now reached the end of their three-act circuit journey for 2022. Their production of ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’ by Martin McDonagh received high praise from adjudicators and audiences across the country and it is a production which the Brideview team will look back on fondly.

As with all productions, the cast and crew were sad to let go of the characters of Maureen, Mag, Ray and Pato, who were brought to life over the past few months.

The group finished up with a 2nd place and four 3rd places, as well as picking up many individual awards along the way including: Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Young Actor, Best Costume, Best Set, Best Stage Management and a number of Golden Moment/ Adjudicators awards as well as many nominations.

Although the group are disappointed not to have qualified for the All-Ireland final in Athlone this year, they are now looking forward to their upcoming home productions and planning their programme for next year.

They would like to thank all those who made this production possible including Waterford County Council and all the audience members who came to support the play at the various venues.
