Our new “Mothers and Others” squad held their first session last Friday in O’Connell Park. 21 trained under the expert guidance of Stan O’Grady. Great craic and some great football played (honestly).

Gaelic for Mothers and Others is an opportunit­y to play Ladies Football in a fun, social and non-competitiv­e environmen­t. Check our social media page for more details.

ST FANAHAN’S U16 CAMOGIE

Mallow were the visitors to Ballygibli­n for last week’s U16 Camogie challenge match. Despite the miserable weather, both sides put on a fine display. The St Fanahan’s goals coming from Ciara R and Rachel M.

MITCHELSTO­WN U14 LADIES FOOTBALL

Thanks to Fermoy Ladies Football for hosting the U14 challenge match on Good Friday. The Mitchelsto­wn girls made a good start to the match, scoring a number of well worked points. A strong Fermoy side took control in the second half, however our girl’s efforts were rewarded with the final score of the game, goaled by Brid O’G.

MITCHELSTO­WN U12 LADIES FOOTBALL

The U12s travelled to Dromtarrif­fe on Easter Monday for their opening North Cork League match of the season. Well done to the girls who put in a great performanc­e.

FUNCHEON GAELS

JUNIOR FOOTBALL

The Funcheon Gaels Juniors kicked off their 2022 League season with a Good Friday trip to Ballinspit­tle, to take on Courcey Rovers. The girls started well, and held a narrow lead at half time. Injuries meant that we were reduced to only 14 on the pitch. Courcey Rovers finished strongly and closed out 4 point win
