DIVISION 2A FOOTBALL LEAGUE Glanworth 0-4 Nemo Rangers 0-6

On Saturday our Intermediate Footballers suffered a narrow defeat to Nemo. Nemo are top of the league and was always going to be a tough challenge. Also considering they defeated us heavily in the league last year there is a lot of positives to be taken from this. Every game in this league is going to be tough so it is very positive after the first day out we have been very competitive.

Hopefully the lads can keep the good work going.

Team: Ciaran Cotter, Jack Blackburn, William Blackburn, Colm Clancy, Jack Coughlan, Ger O’Neill, Jerome Fitzgibbon, Ross Murphy, Sean Finn, Podge Hannon, Dave Pyne, Jessie Walsh, Darragh O’Brien, John O’Sullivan and Emmett Sheehan.

Subs: Jamie Fogarty, Peter Condon, Rob O’Driscoll, Marc Moloney, Shay Coleman, Pierre O’Driscoll, DJ Flynn and Harvey McGrath.

DIVISION 2 LEAGUE Glanworth 1-7 Grange 0-4

Last Thursday our Junior’s made it 2 out of 2 after a hard fought battle against Grange. This is a great start for the lads and it could be 3 from 3 if they emerge victorious against Castletownroche on Tuesday the 19th. This game was keenly contested from the get go. We got a great start when Brian Gallagher punched the ball into the net. We scored three points to Grange’s one in the first half.

Out scores coming from Jesse Walsh, Michael Cashman and Jamie Fogarty. We had a lot of the ball in the first half and should have been a lot more ahead but we were not being clinical. The second half was a lot more even and the scoreline shows this as it was 4pts to 3 to us in the second half. Our scores came from Brian Gallagher, Darren O’Driscoll and two frees from Pierre O’Driscoll. We had a lot of subs introduced in the second half and everyone who played more than did their part. It is great to see a few young lads coming through and settling in very quickly. Well done to all. Keep up the great work.

Team: Ciaran Cotter, Colm Clancy, John Blackburn, Colm Whelton, Marc Moloney, Bart O’Keeffe, Peter Condon, Podge Hannon, Rob O’Driscoll, Harvey McGrath, Jamie Fogarty, Jesse Walsh, Scott Sheehan, Brian Gallagher and Michael Cashman. Subs: Pierre O’Driscoll, DJ Flynn, Shay Coleman, Ian Dwyer, Darren O’Driscoll and Cathal Barry.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congrats to Tommy Fitzgibbon and wife Ciara on the birth of baby Seamus last week. If Seamus has as sweet a left boot as Tommy then he will go a long way on the GAA front! Fantastic news for all the Fitzgibbon family and we wish them well.
