No date yet for transfer of services to Primary Care Centre
A date has not yet been scheduled for HSE services to transfer to the new Primary Care Centre at Mill Island in Fermoy, a HSE spokesperson has confirmed.
Last month, it was reported that the HSE began the commissioning and equipping process at the new centre, a process which is still ongoing and may take some time yet.
“The HSE has begun the process of equipping the part of the primary care centre where HSE services will be based. This can take in the region of six months as it involves the procurement and installation of specialist medical equipment.
“We have not yet scheduled a date for HSE services to transfer to the building. It is likely this will happen on a phased basis,” a spokesperson for the HSE said.
It is understood that once the commissioning and equipping process is complete, the Primary Care Service will manage the movement of staff to the new building.
Recently, an advert shared by CPL sought an administrator for the HSE in the Mitchelstown Fermoy area. The officebased role, sought an individual to begin the position in Mitchelstown initially, then to move to Fermoy. Included in the responsibilities of the role were liaising with GPs and supporting with referral administration, acting as a point of contact for phone and email queries.
The role also requires the individual to manage internal and external interaction between both clinicians and patients, sit in on monthly meetings, raise PO’s for orthotics (Podiatry is one of the disciplines there), data processing, filing, scanning, booking/cancelling patient appointments.
