Lots of iconic moments in St. George’s
Events are coming thick and fast at St. Geroge’s Arts & Heritage Centre in Mitchelstown. On Friday night last, patrons were treated to ‘Iconic - The World’s Most Iconic Music Under One Umbrella’, which as the name suggests, featured tunes most of us would be familiar with.
On stage were Emer Barry (soprano), Eoin Hynes (tenor), Mary McCague ( piano) and Lynda O’Connor (violin). The quartet combined to serve up some top class entertainment, which was enjoyed by a fine crowd.
BUILDING THE BRAND, ENTERTAINING THE MASSES
One of the region’s ‘newest’ venues, St. George’s, thanks to the efforts of a hardworking group of volunteers, has undergone a massive transformation from protestant place of worship to the setting for concerts, fairs and seminars.
Work completed to date has safeguarded the building’s future and in the nature of these projects, there’s still more to be done.
Critical to the future success of the venue is client experience and this has been universally positive. Speaking to TheAvondhu following the show, talented soprano, Emer Barry, said she was thrilled to bring ‘Iconic’ to Mitchelstown and delighted with audience reaction.
Following formalities last Friday evening, all four performers were thanked by MC, Bill Power.
