IMTA JUNIOR MATHS COMPETITION
Congratulations also to the 1st year students in our High Achievers Programme, who received their ‘ Highly Commended’ certificates from the Irish Maths Teachers Association (IMTA) for their participation in the Junior Mathematics Competition.
The IMTA Junior Mathematics Competition is held annually for 1st year students and has been running since 1994. It consists of multiple-choice brain teasers answered within a 40-minute period. Since 2021 the competition has been run online, available in both English and ‘as Gaeilge’.
The 2022 competition was undertaken online and a total of 15,520 entries from 225 schools were received. This represented 30% of all secondary schools in Ireland. Congratulations to our students for their excellent performance.
1ST YEAR FOOTBALL BLITZ
Our 1st year boys Gaelic footballers headed to Mallow where they took part in an inter-school’s blitz. They faced tough competition but still managed to get a few wins in the bag. Well done to Ronan Stack, who was our player of the tournament.
